The training was divided into two groups to be able to accommodate an effective training with an appropriate number of attendees. The first group attended from 7th- 8th March 2021and the second group from 10th-11th March 2021 at the Conrad Corniche El Nile hotel. The training was given to the audience by UNIDO consultancy firm Chemonics Egypt represented in Dr. Ahmed Yehia and his team. The audience was a mix of firms and individuals in the Egyptian market that work in the solar thermal energy technologies as well as factories from the industrial sectors SHIP project is considering (food, textile and chemical). The training bought together SWH suppliers/installers companies and factories that are searching to implement SHIP at their facility.
The aim of this training is to introduce Solar Water Heater Systems for Industrial Process to the industrial sector in Egypt. The training familiarizes factories with SHIP systems feasibility studies and clarifies the important technical points that factories need to take care of while considering a SWH project. The training also allows the sharing of experience and knowledge between solar system companies and factories through interactive sessions.
The training lasted 2 days and covered the below areas:
- Introduction to steam and steam systems
- Steam system approach
- Steam system optimization Non-destructive testing of steam boilers
- SHIP system types, main components, integration points and back-up
- SHIP system integrated with heat recovery
